My lifelong fascination with clay began when I was a student at California State University, San Jose back in the day.  I received my BA in Art with emphasis in Ceramics at California State University, San Francisco in 1977.  I tried to but was not able to pursue a career in ceramics after graduation.  Years later, as the empty nest loomed, I began looking for something to keep me busy.  I decided to take a ceramics class and was hooked again.

I began considering a life of clay again in 1995 and was in full swing by 1997.  Since then I have developed a strong line of functional dinner accessories and decorative picture frames.  I have always loved and wanted to be able to produce strong, functional ware that was bright and colorful.

I use a variety of methods to produce my pieces: slump molds, drape molds and the throwing wheel.   I use a mid range clay and fire to cone 5 allowing me to combine the strength of high fire clay with the brilliant colors achieved at low fire temperatures.  My work is lead free as well as microwave, oven and dishwasher safe.  I have a strong design background and love applying it to clay.  My goal as a ceramic artist is to emphasize the fun in functional.

I am currently an exhibiting member of the Association of Clay and Glass Artist (ACGA) and am teaching ceramics part-time at Butte Community College, near Oroville, California.  I live in Chico, California with my husband, George, and our two dogs, Maggie and Dottie.
